Perhaps so!

Perhaps there the sun would shine brighter,
perhaps there no darkness looms,

perhaps I'll find roses in a temperate shade,
perhaps there they'll be
of a more fecund hue.

Perhaps they would forever settle
freed from cages of the sun;
quenched by the night all dust would settle.

Perhaps it is so
that life could be
so and so,

yet there is no hope,
no sorrow
in the wake of souls that depart

perhaps tomorrow!
